Subscribed to our 'COOEEads' jobs newsletter ... and don't receive it! Print E-mail

We have been receiving emails over the past few weeks from people who have said that they were subscribed to our 'COOEEads' jobs newletter, but no longer receive it - had they dropped off the mailing list? ... and ... could we please resubscribed them!

On checking our mailing list database, we generally find that these people are still subscribed and that they have been receiving our newsletter on a weekly basis - but it hasn't been read! (Yes we can check to see whether our newsletter has been received, was blocked/bounced, and if read the time it was opened - scary stuff I know).

If you were subscribed (or recently subscribed) to our 'COOEEads' jobs newsletter and no longer receive it (or haven't received it) then you will need to check with your ISP or IT section (if using a work email address) to find out why you have not been receiving our jobs newsletter.

The problem may lie with the fact that your ISP or organisation is using software that treats our jobs newsletter as SPAM (because it is sent out in bulk from a mailing list). Consequently, you will need to tell your ISP host/IT people that we are a subscription only service and that you had subscribed to our weekly 'COOEEads' jobs newsletter.

Our jobs newsletter is sent each Wednesday around lunchtime (give or take an hour or two!).

Looking for a job advert ... but get asked to login! Print E-mail

I have received a few emails lately from subscribers who have not been able to view certain jobs on the 'COOEEads' website. They get the following message:

You are not authorized to view this resource.
You need to login.

Adverts placed on 'COOEEads' appear until one day after the closing date (unless we are instructed otherwise). Once the advert has expired, it is no longer displayed on the website and subsequently not able to be accessed.

At this stage subscribers are not able to access archived adverts. If you would still like to view an advert that has expired, email us with the link and we will troll through the archives and send you a copy.

As a way of letting people know when a job closes, we will now start including the closing date in the header information using the following format:

Closing date - Position - Organisation - Town/City, State

RSS feeds and 'live' bookmarks Print E-mail

ImageIf you are a user of Firefox or Internet Explorer 7 and can see the icon to the right in the address bar of your browser then you can subscribe to a 'live' bookmark by clicking on it. This saves it as a regular bookmark or favourite in your browser, except that this one will act a like a folder and within it the titles of the latest listings will be displayed. The contents are automatically refreshed, meaning you can make a quick check on what's new without having to actually visit our website.

For people with newsreaders, there are feeds in various formats that can be subscribed to by clicking on one of the icons on the left of the job vacancies page(s).
