Department of Primary Industries Murrumbidgee Catchment Management Authority Salary $80,096 - $88,660 pa. + super Temporary full-time position up to 30 June 2013 This job is for you if you ... • have a commitment to the environment • want to make difference in achieving sustainable economic development Primary purpose of the position (Responsibilities) In this role you will: * Develop and maintain effective community partnerships with local governments, state agencies, industry and other key stakeholders on riparian, wetland and environmental water management. * Assist the stakeholders to understand, plan and implement on-ground natural resource management and environmental water programs across the Murrumbidgee catchment. * Communicate and disseminate information regarding MCMA programs, projects and policies to stakeholders. * Facilitate effective coordination of best practice information to stakeholders with other MCMA staff, external providers, and State Agencies. Selection Criteria: * Working knowledge and expertise in NRM issues and practice in riparian zones, wetlands and land / water interactions. * Demonstrated understanding of the needs and issues facing stakeholders in achieving sustainable economic development and barriers facing land managers in implementing sustainable systems. * Demonstrated ability to develop and implement NRM activities with stakeholders. * Good knowledge of natural resource legislation, reforms, trends and the NRM policy framework. * High level oral and written communication, negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution skills, including proven ability to network and develop partnerships. * Demonstrated ability to manage projects and organise and prioritise work with conflicting deadlines. * Demonstrated capacity to work within and add value to a multidisciplinary team environment. * Current driver's license.
